User unable to install DIAdem

Solved!
Go to solution

I have a user who is unable to successfully install DIAdem after several attempts.  They most commonly get an error on each install attempt "The DLL-Extension 'GFSPACKB.DLL' could not be loaded".  Occasionally they would get other "GFS...dll" errors after that, and once an mfc140u.dll not found error?

After the installation fails, when trying to open DIAdem, they get the error "The internal DIAdem data organization returned an initialization error. (-2020::0)".

We have tried installing:

  • DIAdem 2025 Q2 via extracted offline installer
  • DIAdem 2025 Q4 via online installer
    • This may be a network\firewall\speed issue?
    • Stuck on Installing NI EULADepot, eventually erroring with the message: "An error occurred while installing the MSI at 'EULADepot2.msi'.  The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package.  This may indicate a problem with this package.  The error code is 2705."
  • DIAdem 2025 Q4 via mounted ISO of the offline installer
    • This was after uninstalling all NI products (including package manager), restarting, then removing "C:\ProgramData\National Instruments"

To complicate matters

  • The user is not allowed to "Run as Admin", so is forced to use the "BeyondTrust" application for limited Administrative access.
  • The user is geographically located in India (I'm in the US), so comes with time-zone issues for debugging\responses

The user should be on Windows 11 24H2, but I apologize to not have verified this yet.

Thanks!

Hey Josh,

I recently had similar "GfS...dll" errors occur on my existing DIAdem 2025 Q4 installation.  I tried a bunch of stuff, but what eventually resolved it was repairing/installing this component package in the NI Package Manager:

NI DataFinder Client API

Hope that helps,

That did it!

Thanks again for your support this, and many other times over the years!
