Hi Simon,

 

Actually, you can still run into memory issues even if you have Gigabytes free.  The question is how much memory (RAM) DIAdem is using during the TDM file export.  I'll bet the XML parser used in the TDM DataPlugin requires that all the information resides in RAM.  Since DIAdem, being a 32 bit application, is limited to 2 GB of RAM, if the DIAdem memory usage tops out at about 2GB during the TDM file write, the problem could come from lack of available RAM.  I'm speaking on general priciples here, Andreas is the expert on the actual behavior of the TDM DataPlugin.
