I’m researching how engineers currently handle HBM catman .BIN measurement files when the data needs to be used outside catman.
I’ve found several workflows — DIAdem, Origin, Python/APReader, manual exports from catman — but I’m trying to understand what people actually use in day-to-day test and measurement work.
If you work with catman BIN files, I’d be interested in hearing:
- Do you normally export from catman first, or read BIN files directly?
- Do you ever need to process many BIN files at once?
- Is preserving channel units / metadata important in your workflow?
- Have you run into compatibility or incomplete-file issues?
- Which output format do you usually need: CSV, TDMS, MATLAB, Python, something else?
I put together a short overview of the current options here:

I’m also independently validating a small desktop utility concept around batch processing, metadata preservation, and integrity checks. There’s an optional early-access research form at the bottom of the site if anyone wants to share more detail.
