Hi,
We changed from windows7 to windows10. Now I (and at least one colleague) get frequent crashes of Diadem. The same behaviour occurs for versions 2018 and 2020. Diadem does not log an error. In Windows event log I see an error referenced to "KernelBase.dll".
The crash appears to occur after clicking on a channel in the Portal. I am using just a small fraction of the RAM available....
Has anyone else met this - any ideas?
Thank you.

Hi Thomas,
Does DIAdem also crash during PDF export?

Hi Thomas,
I have tried to export to pdf and it works ok. But the problem is intermittent - happens about 5 times a day.
It seems to crash following a pattern of events: -
(1) I click on a channel
(2) The cursor spins (as if slow)
(3) The cursor stops spinning for a moment
(4) The cursor spins a second time and then stops
(5) A moment later - Diadem crashes.
The windows event log shows three error events per crash, the first one is a 'The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception......', the other two point to KernelBase.dll...
Thanks for the help
Thomas

I assume it is not related to the operating system but to the fact that the characteristic values are calculated in the moment you click a channel if preview is open.
So the spin you see is this calculation.
I would assume the crash will show up during load of the file you enable the calculation of the values in the settings dialog.
But thats how older DIAdem versions worked. Calculate it on load.
So there are two things you can try
