View: Table scrolling simultaneously with the 2D-Graph

Hi,

it would be helpful to have the following option in the View:

In case of moving the cursor through the 2D-Graph, I would like to have the table scrolling automatically the same way with highlightning the values of the cursors position.

Multiple manual scales for multiple waveforms on one graph in VIEW panel.

Hello ALL,

 

there is only one manual scale to be set in a 2D graph in VIEW Panel. It would be a great idea if setting manual scales would allow you to set seperate scales for seperate plots on one graph.

Add VIEW multi-line legend option (2018+)

In DIAdem 2018, the VIEW legend changed and multi-line legends are no longer supported.  I'd like to add back in a predictable multi-line legend option.  When multiple legend items are added in DIAdem 2018, much more of the screen is taken up with the legend (if I want to view all of the legend items), and less of the data area is visible.

 

I've attached two images to show the comparison of a 2D axes with 5 legend items in DIAdem 2017 and 2018.

Use DIAdem mapping function to create a bread crumb trail

I am currently trying to use the new mapping feature in DIAdem 2010 to create a map of a drive route.  I want the map to contain a "bread crumb" trail of the route.  I also need the ability to change the each Lattitude/Longitude point to a specific color depending on another channel of data.  I have a report that does a similar task but I use MapPoint and Labview to create the map and then export it as an image and use DIAdem to grab the image and attach it into the report.  I thought I might be able to leverage the DIAdem 2010 mapping feature if possible.

Allowing to drag and drop channel in the pocket calculator

Hi,

 

I noticed channels can be dragged and drop everywhere but in the calculator. Ths channel list is quite OK when havin a few channel in the Data portal but becomes fast ´a waste of time on bigger projects. Allowing to drag channel in ot would make it faster to use and also a bit more user friendly.

Time Format precision in DIAdem

Hello,

 

I checked the DIAdem hepl and saw that the time value converted in text only allows 4 digits for the fraction of a second.

But how can you display datetime in text for more precise values.

 

For example, if i acquire on a real time target, analog inputs data at 1MHz, all samples are more precisely time stamped than the best text value that you can display.

 

It would be very convenient to display time stamp like that : 06/19/2013 15:37:50.12345678

instead of that : 06/19/2013 15:37:50.0005

Add programmatic "copy" curve for VIEW

The user interface allows you to copy a curve in VIEW, but not the programming methods (like exist in REPORT).  I'd like to be able to "copy" a curve just like I can in REPORT.

Change x-Axis to Absolute Time for Waveform files in VIEW and Report

I do not understand why it is not possible jet. After I Drag and Drop a Waveform inside VIEW. A possibility to change the x-Axis to absolute time should be possible.

The only way of doing it now is creating an extra Time Channel.Smiley Sad

Change Hex Display Prefix from $ to 0x

The DIAdem prefix for hex data is $ and as I am aware you must use this.  Most programs use the prefix 0x.  There should be an option to chose one, the other or none.

2D Axis System: X-axis selection through use of a channel property for non-waveform channels

For non-waveform channels that have a certain channel property populated that specifies another valid channel to use for the X-axis, it would be great if users could simply drag and drop channels into a VIEW 2D Axis System WITHOUT having to also select the x-axis channel.

 

(Over) Simplified logic:

When dragging a channel from the Data Portal to a 2D Axis System:

 

IF 'Waveform' channel property == No AND IF 'Xaxis' channel property specifies another valid channel,

THEN use this other valid channel for the X-Axis of the channel being dragged.

 

Example 1:

Let's say we have an internal combustion engine for which we are recording several channels at a rate of one sample per engine cycle. As the engine speed goes up or down, there is less or more time between each sample. This means we can NOT use a waveform channel. We must have an associated time channel for these several recorded channels. In this time channel, we will record a timestamp value when each engine cycle occurs.

 

Example of 'Xaxis' channel property value:

"Time Channels\Time Stamp Engine Cycles"

 

Example 2:

Let's say we are recording channels at a known rate, such as 100 Hz. A waveform would normally work for this. However, in this example, there will be gaps of no data in these data channels. These gaps may be relatively long in duration and we therefore do NOT want to record NO VALUE during this time, which would bloat our data files. We also do NOT want to put this data in separate data file nor in separate groups. This situation happens in MANY scenarios for us. For this, we must have an associated time channel for each of the data rates, such as "Time Stamp 1 Hz", "Time Stamp 10 Hz", "Time Stamp 50 Hz", and "Time Stamp 1000 Hz".

 

For both of these examples, plotting such non-waveform channels in a 2D Axis System could take less work on the end users' part, if we could add a little smarts to this drag-n-drop plotting operation. Implementing something like this will make creation of plots with meaningful x-axis values for non-waveform channels as easy as plot creation for waveform channels.

Add 2d intensity plot without frequency for VIEW

In Report it's possible to create a 3D matrix plot with only an Y-axis and the X-axis embedded in the waveform channels.

If you export this to VIEW this won't work since VIEW needs an explicit X and Y channel.

It's very easy and useful to append a layout in REPORT (File...Append Layout), so it's confusing and disappointing that this isn't available in VIEW.

Copy or Export data from the visible area of a View 2D axis chart to the Clipboard

It would be very useful to be able to copy data directly from a View 2D axis chart/graph to the clip board.

This action is similar to using the channel table to copy a selection of data and being able to past that data to the next empty column of the table or pasting it directly into the portal to create a new channel.

 

Currently I can zoom into a small region of the data in the View graph.  Based on the  position of X-cursor1 and X-cursor2 I can find the data in the table and copy it to the clip board.  Then create new channels by pasting into empty columns or pasting into the portal.

But this is very time consuming and cumbersome.  

 

Some time ago I created a script that would copy the data to new channels automatically, but if I can copy the data to the clip board I can paste it into other programs like, please forgive me, Excel for customers who don't have Diadem.

 

Excel does have the TDM importer add-on, but then it is really hard to search for data.

Simple Copy of Plot from View/Report to Clipboard

I would like to be able to copy a plot to the clipboard, either from View or Report.  At the moment I have to use a screen-capture tool like Snippy.

I am introducing DIAdem to our company at the moment and all my colleagues are surprised that DIAdem cannot do this.

Configurable time format in X-Axis of 2D Axis Systems

Hi all!!

 

I would like to be able to view the date of a time channel in a 2D Axis System. I know I can do it transfering it to DIAdem REPORT and then selecting the desired format in the axis, but I want to do it on VIEW.

 

I have tried with a waveform channel, a channel made of time stamps... I think it would a great feature!!

Display Y-Channel when Hovering over Curve

When a large number of curves are displayed on a Report graph, it can be difficult to distinguish between the curves (even with different colors and shapes).  We had a user request the ability to hover over a curve and see the Y-Channel associated with that curve.  I think this would also be a neat idea for View (which already has some "hover" capabilities).  Multiple overlaid curves could either all be displayed (with color indicators?), or only display the top curve (since it's the visible one).

Freeze Frame

Hi,

I would like to request th ability to "Freeze" columns in a view table so they stay on the left-hand side of the table as you scroll to the right.

The channel names/properties sticking at the top works brilliantly, but if you want to have a timestamp channel (or Timestamp, Speed, and Torque channels) visible when you have a view table with many channels you have 3 options:

  1) Scroll back and forth a lot

  2) Add a new occurrance of the channel(s) into the table and move it(them) to the correct spot

  3) Have 2 tables side-by-side and vertically scroll them both together manually

 

I would suggest 2 interfaces to select the columns to freeze at the left hand side of the table:

  1) Right-Click menu called something like "Lock Column(s) at Left" or "Freeze Column(s) to Left" (Or just "Lock/Freeze Column(s)")

  2) On the "Display" interface, have a "Lock/Freeze Left" checkbox on the columns in the Name/Format table (you may also want to have a "Lock to Left First # Channels" checkbox for the All/All of a group channel table options)  This should probably automatically move the columns selected to the top of the list so they appear in the order they will display in the table, as well as allowing the user to rearrange the leftmost columns (if they lock/freeze multiple columns)

Mass-Manage (Delete, Move) Sheets in VIEW and REPORT

Every once in a while when working with larger VIEW layouts or especially REPORT layouts, I find myself wishing I could mass-manage the sheets.  For example, through the manage sheets dialog, I'd love to be able to highlight (shift+click or ctrl+click) multiple sheets and delete them all at once, or highlight multiple sheets and move them all at once as a group.  Yes, I know I could manipulate them via SCRIPT, but sometimes I just want to be lazy!
