SP7 on newer versions of PLCs

Hello.

Just wondering if the SP7 will work on 1200 series. In our bachelor we're using a 300 series, but at uni we only have a 1200 for testing. The company can't just hand us one of their 300 series so we have to test on the 1200 if possible.

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Hello Zeppie,

SP7 currently supports the Siemens SPS 200,300 and 400 family but we also know that it works on more PLC´s as supported.

In your case the 1200 is not supported but to ensured that you can download the free trial version and test if the connection works!

- No guarantee, but my experience tells me that Siemens supports students with lowered pricing of PLC´s.

- Write the connection functionality "simulated" and if you have the 300 PLC change it to "not simulated".

Greetings

Hajo

Hey Hans,

how are you?

Just to check if there are updates on compatibility for S7-1200 and S7-1500 PLCs.

Thank you

Andrea

The compatibility list states "S7 1500 family", but this "family" seems to be made of different "levels".

Is the S7-1513F supported by NI OPC server?

Please post that question somewhere else. SP7 does not utilize OPC.
