What to study? Design patterns. and any basic softare enginieering text ( A Software Programmer's approach to LabVIEW ) Has been a frequently promoted book for this jump in thought process - I learned much from reading it many years ago and, many synapses were rewired.
THE IDE, study it, learn the difference between an "App" and a vi
Learn LabVIEW Projects (if you don't already- they were "new" , read that as "I wrote many projects" before LV 8.0, and understand that the organization is necessary to good programming.

The CLD will test that you can apply software engineering techniques in the LabVIEW (G) language.
My best advice?
1 Read the Rube-Goldberg thread on Breakpoint
2 Participate on the LabVIEW forum - Try to solve "Solved" thread without looking at the "solution"

Never hijack a thread on the forums-
