Quick reminder about the LabVIEW User Group Meeting at NI tomorrow from 11am - 1pm.

Register here asap  -> http://sine.ni.com/nievents/app/offering/p/offeringId/2168389/site/nic/country/us/lang/en

It'll be in bldg C, room 1S13.

Agenda:

VI Functional Test Using LabVIEW and TestStand

Explore an application that uses TestStand and LabVIEW software for the automated test of complex VIs. Complex VIs cannot be tested using the LabVIEW Unit Test Framework Toolkit or other test frameworks. TestStand provides the power to run multiple behavioral patterns and react to responses from a complex VI. The Functional Tester features a modular design that makes it suitable for integrating into customers’ toolchains. The demo shows how to create a Functional Tester in an on-demand role in a toolchain. Integrating the Functional Tester into existing toolchains maximizes its value.

Following the presentation, there will be a code challenge and puzzle!

I'm pumped about the code challenge.  Kudos to Mark Ramsdale who's been working on this rich/fun experience.  He's put a lot of time into this so I hope you all enjoy it.

We're trying to keep it interesting & spice things up while keeping the meetings high value.  If nothing else there will be free food, so please come join us & let's grub+code together!  -drew

Awesome, thanks John!  Really appreciate everyone who came out & participated.  Mark & I have already been discussing the next one -- tentatively DAQ+instrumentation programming nuggets.  Let us know if there's something you wanna do/try/cover/etc.  We're open to any cool ideas.  See you all at NIWeek!  -drew

It was a great meeting, I enjoyed the coding challenge as well.

Mark, please post the challenge and the video of the front panel solution. I will try to make some time to finish my implementation using the DQMH.

Mark's presentation on using TestStand for Unit Testing was great, it sparks some other ideas in my head.

If you guys want to learn more about Unit Testing and contribute your own knowledge on the matter, here is the Unit Testing Group I mentioned during the meeting: https://decibel.ni.com/content/groups/unit-testing-group

Also, for those of you interested on the DQMH toolkit that we are releasing at NI week, join this group:

See you at NI week! and don't forget about the LabVIEW Architects Forum meeting on August 18:
