NI cDAQ-9181, armed with NI 9211 has been diligently monitoring the temperature of a silicon diode sensor around 15 cm from 5.8 GeV electron beam for a week in the historic end station A (ESA) at SLAC national accelerator laboratory.   This is for SLAC experiment T-507, a study of electromagnetic shower damage to silicon diode sensors performed by the University of California at Santa Cruz high energy physics group.   ESA is the location of 1968 SLAC-MIT electron scattering experiment, in which the quarks inside the necleon are first observed.   The 1990 Nobel prize for physics was awarded for this study.
