Definelty found a gem in the breakpoint forums. It is sad that altenbach didn't have time to continue it. Hope he will come back to it or grant permission to the community members to continue it.

Strangely. I once developed a test set for a widget that communicated some data via a serial packet where each packet consisted of
Header (STX)
Length (1 byte calculated on total packet length Or, Data Size *2+3)
Data (ASCII String)
NOT Data (NOT(ASCII String))
Checksum (U8) as the lowest 8 bits of the sum of all Data and Not Data characters cast to U32. (to avoid overflow with the addition per the code comments)
You may see that device every day.
