The SwissFEL project currently underway at the PSI institute in Switzerland is evaluating different platforms and technologies for a combined screen monitor and wire scanner application. The presentation gives and overview of a free electron laser, the different control and diagnostic applications needed and then goes into detail the different platforms evaluated for the above mentioned application.
