Title: New LabVIEW-EPICS Interface and Application in HLSII

Abstract: The NI LabVIEW Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System (EPICS) I/O Server can be used to integrate NI CompactRIO devices into EPICS; however, it offers only limited support for fields, alarms, and timestamps. To overcome these limitations, a new LabVIEW Portable Channel Access Server interface has been developed and is applied in the HLSII cooling water monitoring system. Test results from this system indicate that this approach can greatly improve the performance of CompactRIO devices integrated into EPICS.
