Title: Efficiently Abstract Hardware: The Architecture That Controls the Z Machine
Presenter: Aaron Lombrozo, Sandia National Laboratories
Abstract: At the world's largest X-ray generator, the Z Machine, many different control systems are needed to achieve successful pulsed power experiments. At this session, explore the Status Array Cluster (SAC), a server-client architecture that allows you to quickly and easily abstract hardware with minimal programming, making the daunting task of building and maintaining these control systems simple even for a novice programmer. The SAC architecture is designed for functionality, simplicity, and programmer efficiency, which makes it ideal for controlling the Z Machine and your control system.
