Power Supply Test Engineer

Avogy is looking for a hands-on power supply test engineer with experience in power supplies or power semiconductor test. The person will be responsible for defining and setting up manufacturing test infrastructure including HW and SW to test a wide variety of power devices and systems. This position could be a Senior Engineer or Manager level depending on individual’s experience.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define, develop and implement production test requirements for high throughput test systems at contract manufacturers in US and Asia
  • Devise test and qualification plans for power products based on specifications and schematics. Understand product features and power supply topologies to define and implement appropriate test coverage
  • Define test systems including test boards, sockets, and jigs, write test routines utilizing LabView and C++, design digital communication interfaces, specify instrumentation and test equipment
  • Troubleshoot and bring up test systems, ensure data integrity, perform calibration and R&R studies
  • Diagnosis and root cause fixes of product yield loss mechanisms from test data
  • Make recommendations for product design improvements to optimize manufacturing test throughput


  SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

  • 10+ years of experience in power supply or power IC test and characterization
  • Experience with LabView is required, C++ is a plus
  • Understanding of switching power supply topologies including AC/DC converters, DC/AC inverters, and PFC power supplies
  • Knowledge of analog electronics, low noise measurements, and digital communications
  • Hands-on experience with schematic capture, PCB layout
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage large, complex projects with multiple partners and vendors
  • Detail oriented self-starter, thorough, analytical individual who documents everything and works with minimal supervision
  • BSEE is required
