I am looking to add a new member to the Giga-tronics family, to lead the development & modernization of manufacturing test for our switch products here at Giga-tronics in San Ramon. We are in an exciting growth period where many new products are launching amongst our three companies(Giga-tronics, Ascor, Microsource). The opportunity is for a Senior -evel Manufacturing Test Engineer who has a background that includes LabVIEW constructs(CLD preferred), Teststand(preferred), troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment, and active ownership of ATE through NPI launches. SUMMARY: Key technical resource in manufacturing; lead role in developing and sustaining test and calibration systems for signal switching products.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead role in the introduction of new switching products into manufacturing(NPI); participates in design reviews and pre-production activities; translates design output into assembly, test, and quality strategies
- Manages manufacturing test programs and projects
- Develops and maintains test/calibration stations and equipment(ATE)
- Develops and maintains manufacturing test software in Labview with Teststand
- Develops/sustains manufacturing test procedures/documentation
- Supports/sustains ongoing manufacturing and test operations for switching products; improves/modernizes existing test systems, procedures, and software.
- Assists in optimizing cost, quality, and reliability of products
- Assists in component and systems failure/root cause analysis and implementing effective countermeasures
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum BSEE, BSME, or BSCS with 7+ years experience as a Test Engineer or equivalent, providing direct support of manufacturing test systems for production of electronic products in an ISO 9001 environment
- Working knowledge of electrical design documentation and diagnosis of circuits down to component level
- Experience in transitioning products from design to manufacturing as part of a cross-functional team
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in LabView
- Experience with Teststand test executive, and version management(SVN, etc.) is highly desirable
- Experience/understanding of RF systems, tests and measurements including sources of measurement errors, losses, VSWR, bandwidth is desirable
- Experience with C/C++, VB, VC, Labwindows is desirable
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong communication and collaboration skills – ability to effectively interface with multiple levels and disciplines within manufacturing, engineering, production teams
- Proactive, solutions-oriented; able to work with minimal supervision
