I set up a fresh LabView installation on a fresh computer. When I try to create a new XNET session from the project view, I get: "Some components required for editing are missing. Please contact National Instruments for more information".
I already used the "REPAIR" function in the NI Package Manager and let it repair NI-XNET and all of the recommended sub-components. But to no avail.

What is the version of LabVIEW you are trying to use? The XNet version does need to be compatible and they are for several versions but there is a compatibility table.
Here is an old table, and here is a more updated one.

I'm running the 2026 Q1 version of Labview 64bit, which is listed as compatible on the second website you provided.
I also have Labview 2019 installed for testing purposes, but this shouldn't be a problem I hope?

I uninstalled all packages <= 2020 and also installed LabView 2026 Q1 32bit but still the same error.

Correct, this shouldn't be an issue. I have multiple versions of LabVIEW installed. Sorry I can't help more, it sure seems like it is an XNet install issue of some kind.

Thanks, Hoovah. Looks like it's a software bug known to NI. I found this:
https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA0VU000000C4W50AK&%3Bl=en-US&l=de-DE
So you can normally use the XNET VIs, but not the wizard.
I installed everything on another PC exactly 1:1 as on the problematic computer and it works just fine.
