Regarding NI USB-8473

Hi,

We are using NI USB-8473 for one of our CAN device.

When I connected my device to NI USB-8473 at 125Kb, it is not detecting my device(but using "PEAKopen magic" software it's detecting).

I am new to this NI USB-8473.

Is there any change to be made to make NI USB-8473 detect my device?

Thanks & Regards

Hello Varalakshmi,

What do you mean by "detect" your device?

You may need to perform some kind of action on the bus to "detect" your device.  For example, you may have to send a specific frame with a certain ID and Data to "detect" your device.  This may be done automatically by PEAKopen magic.  What are you using the NI-USB-CAN with?  (LabVIEW, bus monitor?)

I would suggest you connect the USB-CAN and the PEAKopen magic to your device and run the Bus Monitor with the NI-USB-CAN.  You should see what is going on on the bus.  You can then use this information to make a LabVIEW VI that does the same (ie. sends and receives the same frames you see in bus monitor.)

Let me know if that helps.
