NI 9862 comes us as unsupported module in MAX

I have a 1-port High speed NI XNET CAN C series module NI 9862 with a software selectable termination CAN cable (NIcDAQ9881). I have my external power supply connected. I also created an XNET data base, I could  get the 9862 module to communicate. I checked the device in MAX and it passed self test but there is no activity when I connect it to my CAN hardware.

Hi 0722..,

Welcome to the Forums!

Thank you for all the information you already provided! Can you give a bit more information about the bigger picture of how you are using the NI-9862?

  • Are you using the module in a cRIO? Are you aware it most likely needs FPGA support in that case, and will not work in Scan Interface mode? See C Series Module Compatibility Chart - CompactRIO (cRIO) Compatibility with C Series Modules for more information
  • Also, what version of DAQmx / XNET / LabVIEW have yo installed? Looks like you already have the correct versions, just to be sure.
  • And can you elaborate a bit on the "NIcDAQ9881" or post a link? I don't know exactly what you are referring to with this.

Thank you very much!
