I just installed a cDAQ-9171 USB chassis with a NI 9862 CAN interface module. The 9171 shows up in MAX, but the 9862 is coming up as "Unsupported Module".

Hi dmourer-
Unfortunately, your screenshot cuts off just above the Software entries that might be telling. Which version of NI-DAQmx do you have installed? Do you also have NI-XNET (the driver necessary, in addition to NI-DAQmx, to use your 9862 module)?

I am running DAQmx version 14 and NI XNET version 14.

Hi dmourer-
Those driver versions are fine however you can try to repair the installation of them.
You can also try to Reset MAX configuration saving your task configuration FIRST.
Finally, you can also consider using DAQmx 14.1.

Check your device manager. You may need to associate your hardware with the XNET driver (c:\program files\national instruments\ni-xnet\staging) (the x86 version of the path).

Can you elaborate on how you installed the DAQmx and XNET drivers? Were they installed from the same Device Drivers CD or seperate downloads? What order were they installed in?

I installed them using the device driver cd that came with LabVIEW 2014. I then tried using the DAQmx 9.7.5 driver cd that came with the cDAQ9171, but it didn't work either. So I reinstalled DAQmx from the 2014 cd.

We can try re-installing XNET after DAQmx 14 has been installed. Or we can try installing the XNET driver from a direct download here.
I have not been able to reproduce the issue using individually installed drivers.

I re-installed XNET 14 and still have the same problem.

How does the device show up on your device manager?
