Info about a2l files

Hi all

I've a question for you.

I'm working on an HIL system validation where I read some physical variables by some instruments (oscilloscopes etc) by LabView and I work with Canape Vector.

This tool asks me in input an .a2l file but the result of my Renesas compiler is a .bin a .abs file

How can I convert my abs file into a2l file?

thank you very much

Hi,

unfortunately a database editor for ASAM MCD 2MC databases is not included in the NI toolkit.

http://www.ni.com/pdf/products/us/niecutoolkit.pdf

You can generate .a2l files through various third-party utilities. For example:

Hi

thank you for very useful suggestion!

My problem is that from my Renesas Compiler I can obtain a .abs file or a .map file

In Asap2 editor I can't import directly the abs or map in order to export them into an a2l file.

Have you got any other suggestions?

Thank you a lot
Dario

Hi

I am having a2l file to read ECU.

We can read using vector system to read and log the ECU CAN data

Is it possible to read the same the same data using NI-9862 and a2l file?

This thread is 12 years old, think about making a new thread next time when you have a question.  NI has the ECU Measurement and Calibration Toolkit which allows for doing XCP and CCP via NI hardware provided you give it an A2L file.

http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/210569

Download the trial, and checkout some of the examples to see if it can work for you.

At least one OEM that I know of is moving away from XCP and CCP, and in addition no longer contain other  required info in the A2L files for ECU files that are XCP or CCP protocol specific. I've also found that at least one OEM requires the proprietary dll to unlock the ECU before any communication can take place. Manufacturers like PCDIAG and Intrepid apparently have agreements with OEMs that allow them the proprietary info and apparently embed the info in their loggers, which allows them communication privileges.

It appears that it all depends on what communication info is available for any specific ECU.
