Zip files should not be blocked (attaching one as a test). What is the size of your zip file? I do know there is a size limit of something like 10MB.

I have some VI's that came with an OTDR instrument I purchased back in the 1990s. I used them with LabVIEW version 6.1. LabVIEW 2026 gives me an error message that the VI is too old to convert to the current version. If someone can help me convert them to the current LabVIEW version I would be most grateful.

Any current LabVIEW version should be able to open 6.1 VIs, so most likely something else is wrong. What is the exact error message?

It is possible that you try to open the original drivers and they are actually much older than 6.1.

If the instrument company still exists, they might have more current LabVIEW drivers available on their website.. You can also search here.

Once you attach a zip file with your VIs, somebody will be able to take a look.

When I try to attach a zip file with the instrument VI's to this message, I get the error "The file type (.zip) is not supported." How can I upload a zip file?

The error message I get when trying to open the VI's with LabVIEW Community 2026 is the following:

The instrument company, Opto-Electronics, went out of business sometime in the 2000s or early 2010s. Before posting here, I searched the Instrument Driver Network for more recent versions of the VI's, to no avail.

I switched to Chrome browser and I was able to upload the zip file containing the instrument VI's.

Also, I realize from the LabVIEW 2026 error message that these VI's were created with LabVIEW version 4.0.1, not version 6.1. I last used them in LabVIEW 6.1.
