Capture Data not possible with DAQmx devices!

InstrumentStudio 2026 Q1 added supported for DAQmx devices!
A great update, well needed when working with PXI systems for quick and easy measurements!

But how can it be that "Capture data" is not possible. One of most basic features (which works for all other instruments I have used), is not available - the menu is greyed out. I tried all other possible places like right click on the graph or the settings gear. This really not usable!

First, I'm glad you tried out the new DAQ Analog Input panel and thanks for taking the time to provide feedback!

You are correct that capture data is not yet available in the InstrumentStudio DAQ Analog Input panel. There is not a workaround for this.

We are actively working on adding more PXI DAQ support to InstrumentStudio. Analog Input panels were added to InstrumentStudio 2026 Q1. Additional DAQ functionality will be made available in subsequent releases of InstrumentStudio as can be seen on the InstrumentStudio Software Roadmap. As part of this DAQ work, we need to make decisions on what is delivered when. For example, we chose to not deliver capture data and other Analog Input panel functionality in favor of making progress on other panel types such as Analog Output. We are planning to add capture data support, but this work has not yet been prioritized.

I've taken note that capture data is important to your use cases. The more people that upvote your request or respond below saying they agree, the more likely we will be able to prioritize the capture data work sooner.

Let me know if you find additional missing functionality that hinders your ability to you use the DAQ panels. I appreciate your feedback.
