i found this:
https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA00Z000000P7P4SAK&l=en-US

followed the steps and was able to uninstall more.
It kept saying "NI Shared components were detected that are not associated with any products. Would you like to remove these shared components"
and i would select "Yes", restart the PC and it would still prompt me with the same thing about shared components were detected...

after multiple attempts, i decided to try re-installing NI Package Manager (which seemed to work). However when i try to then install NI-DCPower, it fails with an exception:

"An unknown error occurred in the curl libraries. (Invalid status line)"
and based on:

https://www.ni.com/docs/en-US/bundle/labview-api-ref/page/errors/networking-error-codes.html?srsltid=AfmBOopaBYYYTLYxkuzol9fUheGoP_zq4fsOpikZQYs0Zz9sy0xlAFIg

it seems like that was some sort of Networking Error.

I disabled one of our corporate antivirus services and now the install seems to be working...

Instrument Studio was working for me fine a few months ago, i hadn't used it in a while.

Today i tried to use it and it kept crashing.

I went into NI-MAX, reset the configuration, and restarted my computer.
Then Instrument Studio would launch.
But as soon as i opened NI-MAX, Instrument Studio crashed.
After repeating the above a few times (with restarts and all) i started trying to use NI Package Manager to "repair" all of my installed services.
This did not fix it.

Then i went with the full "uninstall" and using Package Manager, i removed EVERYTHING. I then even uninstalled NI Package Manager. Then downloaded and installed a fresh copy of Package Manager.

However, now i cannot install anything with Package Manager.

If I try to install anything i get:

An unknown error occurred.

Additional error information:
• Unable to load MIFSystemUtility DLL.
• The specified module could not be found

How do i make any more progress? How do i fix this?

Were any InstrumentStudio crash reports created? You can find them at the following location where you replace "25.0" with the appropriate InstrumentStudio version:

%localappdata%\National Instruments\InstrumentStudio 25.0

I might eventually see the reports in NI's error reporting system, but if could be useful if you have something to share here. Text files with callstack info and dump files can be found there. It is likely there are multiple copies depending on how often you saw the crash. If you are willing to share the text content here, I would appreciate it.
