There are two ways to read your question. Obviously I got it wrong and read the stoopid version 🙂

It is just pass/fail. They don't even tell you which questions you got wrong which is why I recommend the online practice exam - it does tell you which questions you miss. If you can pass those you will do fine. Don't sweat it - you will do fine.

Hey everyone,

I was just wondering if your score on the CLAD exam matters or if it's just a pass/fail scenario? Also, anyone know of good study resources (maybe more practice tests besides the two on this site)?

Thanks

Of course the score matters. The test is multiple choice and you need something like 75% to pass. You have (I think) one hour to finish. Go to ni.com/training and look at the CLAD prep materials. There is an online practice exam you can use to check your knowledge against. Take note of the questions you miss and study those areas. The practice exam is very similar to the real deal.

I believe the OP is asking whether there is a difference between 75.0% and 100%.

Unless things have changed since I took any of the certification exams, your passing score is not printed on your certificate, nor have I ever heard of any employers requesting the actual score, in addition to the certification itself.

The passing grade is 70%. From 40 questions you can have 12 errors. I passed mine with 75%. Not a very good result, but passed is passed. Take the example exams and you'll do fine. My exam had many questions that where exactly the same as in the example exams.

Uhmmmm... You don't need a high score (or even a certification) to get a job. ON the other hand. Your employer might be a bit happier if you show up with a higher degree of competancy so I applaud your question on how to get better and what resources you can find.

#1 spend some time on the forums. It is THE HIGHEST concentration of LabVIEW knowledge you can find. book, study guides online exams can help but are no substitute for slinging the wires.

As an exercize look at the threads marked solved: no peeking......work the question out yourself sling some wires- see how the marked solution compares to yours.

#2 the LabVIEW help file. study the palattes with help open- try to use each function in a experiment vi. Do you know more about the function afterwards? what are the optional inputs and what do they change. (Sometimes you even have a ahha moment and discover a better way to do things you've hacked at before)
