Hi Asgar,

you don't see any modules in MAX.

You will see these modules in your RT project once you included your RT target (aka your cRIO9030) and then searched for attached modules…

You should use a cDAQ device instead to be able to use the modules with MAX/SignalExpress…

Hi,

I have recently bought NI-CompactRIO-9030. I have installed all required software before to turn on the power. Then, chassis has connected to Laptop with A and B USB cable which is detected in MAX. But I cannot see the modules such as 9223 or etc. I want to know that how to find modules in MAX and use self-test and panel test! In meanwhile, chassis and modules are detected in Labview. But I want to see the modules in Max then I can use it in Signal Express for acquiring signals!

Thanks

Thank you. Yes, I saw it in RT project in Labview. I only want to acquire signals and save it in Labview, I don't generate any signals, It must be very simple. Later on I want use SEA9744 module to send data by wireless (I am not in that stage yet).

I used >Find examples>CompactRio>9223BNC

After that I changed the IP address which is same in MAX for chassis and run it, after the compiler is finished and successfully done, the error is the modules is not connected. That's way I am thinking that the moduels connects have some problems.

Thanks

Hi Asgar,

the project you compiled and deployed is made for a cRIO9068.

I am using 9223 BNC module in my chassis (find example> 9223 BNC starting) in labview to use cRIO 9030 for measuring data in labview.

First of all, I created a project from 9223 BNC in labview and then I changed the IP of RT CompactRio Target which is successfully connected and later I use the FPGA to run and measure the data. But I cannot changed the chassis name based on model in NI MAX.

thanks

But I don't know how to save data in format of TDMS in labview.

When you "don't know" you should examine the example VIs coming with LabVIEW.

There are examples demonstrating how to use TDMS file functions…

(Keep in mind: your RIO doesn't have access to your PC's harddrive. It can only save files on its own drive!)

Are you talking about that image of your frontpanel? What should we do with it? Play with Photoshop???

Suggestion: When you have problems with your VI you should attach your VI…

I am using the hard driver memory for save the data, I think this error related to memory, is this true?

The error message is quite clear: don't fiddle with FIFO length!

Define the FIFO length once in the FPGA part of the project, then don't even try to change it dynamically later on! (Not unless you are REALLY sure what you are doing then!)

How is this error related to your problem of trying to write a data file?

Thank you. I am trying to get data from the waveform graph but I don't know how to do that. You said before that RIO doesn't have access to your PC's hard drive. It can only save files on its own drive! by then, I don't have SD card in my cRIO 9030, where the file should be saved? I can see the data in DIAdem View.

thanks

Hi Asgar,

I am trying to get data from the waveform graph but I don't know how to do that.

THINK DATAFLOW: you want to save the data that is also plotted in the graph. Even these small semantic differences are important when you program this in LabVIEW!

Use file functions to save data to files! Did you examine the example VIs coming with LabVIEW?

I don't have SD card in my cRIO 9030, where the file should be saved?

The cRIO has it's own internal storage - or where do you think is the cRIO OS and your program stored? Usually cRIOs have a C: drive internally…

I can see the data in DIAdem View.

I don't know that "DIAdem View" tool, so how did you get the data from your cRIO to your PC running DIAdemView?

Hi Asgar,

Not yet!

Well, this should be one of the first steps when trying to learn new things in LabVIEW.

You want to learn those things, don't you?

File attached.

So you used a feature only available in the LabVIEW IDE, but not programmatically. Once your cRIO runs headless (what it is made for!) you will not even see the frontpanel of your VI!

Learn how to use file functions. Learn how to setup cRIO projects. Learn how to transfer data from cRIO RT to Win-PC. All those things are explained in example VIs, LabVIEW help, example projects, AppNotes on NIs website…
