designing a text file transceiver using 2 usrp 2900 blocks.

Hi all,

I am trying to send and receive a text file using 2 usrp 2900 blocks. when I use only one usrp block, the system works fine. maybe it is because the transmitting and receiving antenna are close and located on the same block. However, when i try to do it using 2 blocks, it can send but cannot receive. 

I am really stuck now and would welcome any help.

Hi,

Few suggestions:

1. Try setting the LO frequency away from the carrier frequency. Refer this KB http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/DE8F06E9223230C286257E6F006FF7A5
2. You can try to up the Tx and/or Rx Gain.
3. Make sure that you are using the right antenna for your frequency of operation, if an inappropriate antenna is used it may cause unexpected attenuation as per it's frequency characteristics.
