GPIB-ENET Port Forward in VM-Ware WorkStation

Hello,

I am trying to set up VM-Ware Port Forwarding for the NAT settings in the VMWare Virtual Network Editor to allow my virtual machine access to a GPIB-ENET device (100 and 1000).  I know from this link that ports 5000, 5010, 5003, 5005, and 5015 are used by the ENET devices.  When TEIS sets up these ports in their routers to cross from one VLAN to another, everything works fine but when I set them up for a VM using VMWare running on a host machine that is connected to the business VLAN at TE, it does not function properly.

Below is how I am setting them up.  Are all of these ports TCP or are some of them UDP?  Has anyone else been successful in configuring VMWare workstation with a NATted VM to work with GPIB ENET boxes?

Hello GaryNeal

I know this doesn't answer your question, but I do know that there could be odd behaviour of reading instruments through a VM. It is actually not supported. Just to give you heads up. http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/31B0985265CA167886257831003F5536
