It would be great to be able to make a link between different pages in a DIAdem report, and have those links carry over into a PDF version of the report. For example, if I had a very large report, it might be useful to be able to create a Table of Contents with links to the different sections of the report.
Currently, the PDF creation process will create bookmarks for the pages, but a link within the document might be easier to use when examining the report.
I would like to be able to generate text tables within my report generated form LabVIEW using the Express vi DIAdem report...currently the only way to do this is create a script. This seems to be an overcomplicated way of doing a relatively benign operation and makes the tool very cumbersome.
Whilst you're at it, labeling the y-axis of a graph also seems to be over complicated from within LabVIEW. Maybe I'm just too used to easy programming with LabVIEW! But programming isn't my main activity...
It would be very useful to have the ability to use the X-Channel properties in a chart legend as a default option. In the instance of plotting several stress-strain curves on one chart where the Y-Channel (Stress) is shared across different strain (X) channels, there is no easy way of using the legend to show information from the X-Channel.
There are several ways to get X-Channel data in the legend but these methods only get data from the X-Channel of your first or last curve in the chart and uses that same info in the legend for all curves.
Thank you!
Hi,
It would be great to be able to use CurveSnippets taken from a chart on one report sheet and use them on another report sheet. The most obvious use would be when showing chart legend on another sheet. This cannot be done currently and is essential for making legends on different sheets than their charts.
Thanks
Hi
I know right now you can create a coordinate object in a 2D plot and set the values or create a constant line. Now I would like to create a line that would have the same behavior as the coordinate, just making the input of the initial and final points. I know it is posible to do it creating 2 channels in the data portal but I would like to have the line embedded in the 2D-Plot just like the constant and coordinate objects.
Thank You
Add a function to setup live measurements of curve data between cursors. As the cursors move the function uses the new curve data between the cursors to immediately update the measurement field(s). This functions comes standard on most advanced digital oscilloscopes. The oscopes' usually have a measurement screen where measurement parameters are entered for the specific measurement desired. My immediate desire was just to measure RMS between verticle cursors but by no means should this function be limited to one measurement type.
I generate a very large number of polar plots which are beam patterns for sonar devices. I'm sure that radar folks do the same for their antennae. The standard in the industry for directivity patterns has long been to label the plots with negative angles to the left of boresite and positive numbers to the right. I am constantly asked to label my plots this way, and I have to keep making excuses because DIAdem does not allow this.
This is what I need:
Consider the ability to add a non-orthogonal secondary axis to an axis system in VIEW and REPORT and a non-orthogonal axis system with arbitrary angle. Many complex plots have typical 2D axes and additional axes overlayed at some angle. This would allow creating complex plots (ternary plots, psychrometric charts etc.)
We use PowerPoint a lot as a reporting tool. I am pushing DIAdem as a better alternative; demonstrating the power of parametric plots is very convincing. However, one of the areas where PowerPoint wins is with its spellchecker. Having this functionality in DIAdem Report would be a big help.
(Yes we could copy & paste from Word but this is not very satisfactory.)
Being able to create a report with different page sizes
At the worksheet parameters you can choose to use local page format, but you can only select the orientation (portrait or landscape). I Propose to add page size property when you select to use local page format, being able to indicate Height, Width or ratio.
When you have made a measurement with GPS positions included in your data, it should be possible to report or view a measured parameter on these GPS positions. It should be possible to give different colours to the parameter values. E.g. I have made some vibration measurements on a tram with GPS positions. When it is possible to give low vibrations levels a green colour and high levels a red colour you can easy spot bad sections of track. It is combining two functios DIAdem already has: GPS maps and 3D characteristic diagram.
There are two ways to add text to reports.
The first one is the normal textbox without format features like numbering and intendation with bullets and they are printable as text via the pdf-Diadem printer. The second option is to use textobjects. In this case the format functions like numbering and intendation with bullets is very useful to make little summary pages especially at the end of reports. However, when they are printed via the Diadem-PEF-Printer these textobjects appear as pictures. Hence, the text cannot be copied and used without OCR... also the appearance is not that nice, because of all the pixels instead of true type fonts...
It would be really helpful if these textobjects could also be saved with text.
With diadem it is not easy to break axis. But sometimes it would be really helpful to be able to break especially the y-axis to make some diagrams much more easy to understand... this is e.g. possible with Origin or other programs and sometimes very helpful - it would be great to implement this feature in Diadem report and view also
To be able to use Report pages or parts of pages with higher qualities then bitmap-based documents in other programs like powerpoint, Latex or Word it would be really helpful to integrate an export function that allows to create vector based pictures such as .eps or .svg.
First of all the size of the data is smaller, second the quality is much higher...
Please bugfix the "Textobject" in Report.
Create a new Report -> add a "Textobject" -> fill in some Text an close it -> copy the side:
The Textobject is black and if you try to edit the black Textobject, DIADEM crash.
Right now, you can only delete one page at a time (using delete or the "manage...") feature.
Why cant I just select multiple pages and "delete all". Or in the "manage..." feature, why cant I select more than one at a time (otherwise what is the little check box for?) and delete all?
Would be very helpful to add these features
In the DIAdem interface, there are menubar buttons available that allow the user to "Save ___ As...", whether it's a script, SUD, layout, etc. In the script editor, there is also a "Save All" button that saves all of the opened scripts. However, 9 times out of 10 I just want to save the current layout/script/whatever. It would be great to have a standard "Save" button either in addition to or in place of the "Save As..." button in the menubar.
(Yes, I know I can use the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl+S" or click "File --> Save" but these options are not as readily apparent as the "Save As..." or "Save All" icons, so I find myself clicking one of those and then having to click several more times just to get out of it...when all I wanted was a one-click save.)
An added benefit would be (like in the Script editor), if the file has not changed then the "Save" icon could be grayed out. That way the user would know that the current state of the current script/layout/etc was saved to disk.
At the moment it is not possible to define the Master Layout of a TDR file with a relative file reference. The same problem occurs on images if you don't want to embed them. PLease enable the possibility to add images (and other file documents) via relative paths as well as the TDRM Master file for a TDR template.
