Creating a New Event with a name that has previously been used

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

Problem:

I am trying to create an event for a module whose name has been used before but the event has either been renamed or removed through DQMH tools

Example

Module: Module A

UE: Test A

Rename UE using DQMH tools

Module: Module A

UE: Test B

Create new event in module A

Module: Module A

UE: Test B

UE: Test A

Complains with the following message when trying to create UE Test A

 DQMH Error.PNG

Solution:

--UNKNOWN--

Troubleshooting

  • Closed Project: This did not help
  • Closed LabVIEW:  This did not help

Thanks for the tool.

I have seen this too, and can help you "fix" it.

Basically after the rename when you close the project, you most likely said save all VIs, so it resaved to disk the original Test A VIs.  So go to the DQMH modules folder and look and you will see the Test A.vi and the Test A Argument -- cluster ctrl.

The error is because VIs with that name already exist on disk.  So simply delete the the old, no longer used VIs.  Then reopen the project and you should be good to now create Test A again.
