NI-DAQmx versioning...

This is a repeating issue. See here for a past similar message.

I was about to set up a new PC, so I looked for the latest NI-DAQmx drivers and I found

  • 16.0.1 f0 released December, 14 2016
  • 16.1.0 f3 released October, 26 2016

Can someone give me a good reason why it is released a supposed "outdated" version about two months later than the most updated one? I'm just curious.

16.0.1 vs 16.1.0 is also a repeating issue.

 

16.0.1 was a patch release to resolve issues with the NI 9361 and NI 9469 modules. In other words, it is a re-release of DAQmx 16.0 (originally released in August) with select targeted fixes and no new hardware support.
