how to uninstall LabView when it's not in Add/Remove list

Hello,
I tried to upgrade my LabView from 8.2 to 8.5.
First I uninstalled ver. 8.2 via windows add/remove.
Than I run the DVD of 8.5 installation. It ran perfectly OK, but at
the end I when I tried to activate I got this message:
"An unexpected licensing error has occurred. Contact NI support to
resolve this issue" (they didn't have any answers for me...)
I try to install again (and again...) and got the same error.
NOW I tried to uninstall it BUT it does not appear in the Add/Remove
programs list in the windows.
I do see C:/Program File/ National Instruments/Lab View 8.5 but no exe
file in there... in the Start menu it appears but gives an error:
licensing "Required licensing Manager Libraries cannot be found.
Repair installation of your application through Add/Remove Programs in
the Windows control panel then restart..."
My desperate question is:
How can I uninstall the program when it is not in the list and does
not have its own uninstall option?
Thanks,
Urit

Hi Urit,

there should be an entry "National Instruments" in your software list. Use the change/remove button to open a dialog window...

Hi D60,

you're asking in a ~5 years old thread, where a solution was given...

Oh, sorry... I did not check the post date...

Anyway I have found a tool that is used to remove NI components when they are not listed in Add / Remove Programs and I can not see that this thread is solved.

Have a nice day!

Hi D60,

maybe 5 years ago there was no "accept solution" button or maybe the OP never came back to this thread or was too lazy to accept a solution?

To make that thread complete:

- all NI software is listed under "National Instruments" in the Software system settings

- the tool you're talking about is named "msiblast" and can be found here in the forum or by asking NI support

Best regards,
GerdW

Hi USman ASghar,

National Instruments does not recommend the use of msiblast to remove NI software. While it can help you easily uninstall our software it can also leave some unwanted files as well as delete more files than necessary. It can also change registry keys in your computer and cause further problems. We recommend the traditional method of using Add/Remove programs to uninstall our software.
