Step input function

thanks.

I have wire the waveform chart just after the while loop...and key in

value=1

delay=3

current value=0

and run the vi. I have observed that, the new value always at 0....  is there anything wrong to wire the waveform chart there?

Ah.. No No you should not do like that use that as a sub vi. and pass the values from outside and see how it works. I have attached a quick example and I have done few modification in the older one. Check it. Good luck.

thanks. I downloaded both vi into same folder. I open the example step.vi

and key in value=1 and delay=50.

however, from the waveform chart there, i dont see the signal jumps to 1 after 50s.

see attached file..something went wrong?

You have to trigger the value to step up. Once you set the delay and the value click Step Value then it will step after 50 secs.

You are going to have to explain what you want. You started by hijacking an old thread about the ramp pattern and then you say you used the pulse pattern function. Now you are doing some sort of step but doing it manually. If you really want a step at regular intervals, then the ramp pattern is perfectly suited for that.
