Node WSN-3230 compatible with wifi

Hi,

I´m trying to acquire a node WSN-3230 but I have  some questions,

Does WSN-3230 is compatible with wifi?

Do I have to acquire a Gateway too?

Could I receive and send data with the node?

Hello,

WSN uses the IEEE 802.15.4 (Zigbee) protocol to transfer your measurement information to the gateway, which acts as the network coordinator. In this case you won't be able to use it through Wi-fi as they are different wireless communication protocols.

If you want to have a wireless measurement system, we have different options using Compact-DAQ, with the advantage that you can use it with more than 50-compatible measurement modules. Here some useful links:

I hooe this information is useful

(Note: I found a similar post of yours in a spanish forum. I will direct it to this page)

Just to make a slight correction in case someone else is reading this - NI WSN functions on Zigbee protocol, but there is another layer on top that NI has built specifically for the WSN product.

This means that while the underlying technology is Zigbee, you cannot communicate with the WSN nodes directly using Zigbee protocol (unless you implement the proprietary NI protocol on top of that through some voodoo magic).
