External power requirement for 3202 end node

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I would like to design a solar power system for the 3202 end node. But, I'm not sure how to determine the 3202 power requirement?

The node external power input is labeled with 9-30V, 2W max. However, NI provides desktop power supply (among the 3202 node accessories) that provides 12 VDC power up to 1.25 A /15 W.

If I'll use 12V battery, what the current (or power) rating should be? 12V, 2W or 12V, 15W.

Thanks,

Ahmed

I got response from NI Arabia Technical Support Team.

Here is thier answer:

The 3202 node would be damaged if it takes in more than 2W power. But when you connect a 12VDC battery with 1.25A max current rating, then the 3202 node would draw much lesser current depending on its requirement.
