Using LabVIEW Events, Runtime Menus and Drag & Drop to create professional looking applications

The following project contains some completed VIs (written in LabVIEW 8.6) that demonstrate the basic usage of the following:

1. Run Time Menus - you can customize the Run Time Menu in your LabVIEW program so that your application has a familiar "look and feel" as many other software applications. See screen shots in the presentation on how to pull up the run time menu editor in LabVIEW.

2. Right Click Run Time Menus - you can now customize the run time menu that users see when they right click on a control or indicator. See screen shots in the presentation on how to pull up the run time menu editor in LabVIEW for controls or indicators.

3. Drag and Drop - you can now develop an application where you can drag & data from one control to another. For example, you can drag data from an array control to a waveform graph. See example code how to do this.

The project contains a Powerpoint presentation (PDF version included for those that don't have Office 2007) outlining some of the details described above. The project also has some ready to run example code for you to review and use. Just download and unzip the attached file and open: Events, Menus, Drag & Drop Project.lvproj

Enjoy!
