Hi, I just installed Virtual Bench and it doesnt recognize my ni usb 6008. How can I resolve this?

Virtual Bench is an old product (I didn't even know it was still sold) and probably does not have support for the DAQmx driver that the USB 6008 uses.

Hello Dulcy,

In order to use your USB-6008, you will need to have the appropriate drivers installed.  The USB-6008 requires the NI-DAQmx Driver to be used.  Virtual Bench supports only the Traditional DAQ driver.  Since the 6008 is not supported in Traditional DAQ (you can check this from the DAQmx readme), you will not be able to use Virtual Bench with your 6008. 

Instead, the DAQmx driver includes a 30 day trial to the full version of LabVIEW SignalExpress.  For a list of features between SignalExpress and SignalExpress LE check out this article.  Basically, SignalExpress LE provides similar functionality to Virtual Bench but includes support for newer NI devices.  It is included on the driver CD you received with your 6008 and is also included on the download of DAQmx that can be found at the link about.  Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi, I downloaded the signal express 3.0 and I want to generate a signal, but I dont know how to configure the program to detect the NI USB 6008. Please tell me how to do it, I just need to generate a sine signal. Thank you.

have you tried LABVIEW, it is much easier.

Anyway,  make sure that you installed NI DAQmx first
