convert .ref files into a usable form

I am trying to use MatLAB to perform calculations on information that is collected through VirtualBench's DSA. When I save the Waveform's in the DSA it saves them as a .ref file. How can I get this into a usable MatLAB form? or convert it into anything else? I am running VirtualBench V2.1.1 on a Windows 95 machine. If you need any system specs please let me know. Thanks

Re: convert .ref files into a usable form

Tim,

I just talked with some of the other engineers here and one of our Application Engineers (Scott) mentioned that he answered this question for you in an email.

Would you mind posting his response so that others can see the solution?

Thank you,
Otis

Re: convert .ref files into a usable form

Here is the e-mail I received. Thanks for the help.

Tim,

That's a good question. The solution to this problem is to use
File->Generate Report to save the waveforms into a .txt file in ASCII
format. This will allow any application capable of reading an ASCII text
file to import and manipulate the data. The .ref file is created for use
solely within the VirtualBench application and is not a standard file
format, thus there is not an easy way of converting the contents of that
file into something that can be read by a third party. Using File->Generate
Report should solve your problem.
