Use VirtualBench 2.0 to create Arbitrary Waveforms for use in labview with only PXI hardware (no PCI hardware)

I have VirtualBench Version 2.0. We have been using the “Arb” to create custom waveforms and we were very happy with it. Few weeks ago, we upgraded our systems. Now we have a PXI-8106 RT system with PXI 6733 High speed Analog output card, and whole bunch of other PXI and SCXI hardware. We also have LabVIEW 8.2 Full Development System, along with Real-Time Module.

I know that VirtualBench 2.0 was made before PXI so that VirtualBench 2.0 will not support PXI unless upgraded. However, upgrading is not an option at this time.  We have to go through lot of paper work, etc… to upgrade.

I found a LabVIEW program (vbwe2iva.llb for LabVIEW FDS 5.1) that will read in the waveforms created in Arb and convert them to array for LabVIEW. This is great and I hope to use it with LabVIEW FDS 8.2.

However, now, I have the VirtualBench installed in a new computer (host computer) and it doesn’t have any DAQs. Also we didn’t keep out old cards. But I need to be able to access the Arb. However, when I open VirtualBench, it says “VirtualBench cannot find any configured DAQ hardware in this computer. You will need to exit VirtualBench and run the NI-DAQ Configuration Utility before proceeding”  When I click “OK” on that pop up message, it takes me to the main VirtualBench 2.0 screen with Icons, including the Arb Icon. However, I can’t click on it. Is there any way I can access it? Or is there other way to create arbitrary waveforms?

I know there is an “arbitrary waveform generator.vi example for LabVIEW but it is not shipped with LabVIEW 8.2 FDS. How can I get this VI?

Are there any other options?  Again, please keep in mind that upgrading now is not an option. I will get it upgraded next time when we buy PXI Systems, which won't be for another three or four months.
