Using REF in to generate FMCW on USRP?

Is it possible to generate Frequency chirp on NI USRP 2922 with bandwidth greater than 40 Hz by sweeping LO frequency externally?

Hi,

I don't see any problem in generating a Frequency chirp using the USRP, I found  this forum interaction that might be helpful for you(NI Forum). Also check this information about generating a Chirp Signal (Here0).

Thanks for your reply. I want to generate chirp with BW greater than USRP TX bandwidth of 40 MHz. Is there a way?

FM is a more straight forward waveform. You may be able to use a Fgen, DAC, or USRP for the message and build a circuit for the modulation.

The other option is to get a USRP with a wider bandwidth. 🙂
We just releasd 120 MHz bandwidth versions of USRP RIO. Is that wide enough?

The Quicksyn may be a better option for Generating a chirp. http://ni-microwavecomponents.com/quicksyn
