Hi all
While looking at the template for usrp rio code development, I came across a block that says samples to trim. I did not understand the description given there.
Could some one please explain me the significance of this and how this is related to the sample rate?
Thank you
Arjun

Sometimes when you receive samples, the first few samples are transient. Since those samples aren't useful, you'd like to just ignore them. This control lets you specify the number of samples to ignore/throw away/"trim" from the beginning of your received data. Make sure acquire additional samples too! If you want 1000 samples total, and plan to trim 100 samples, set your fetch size to 1100 samples.

Thank You.
So for a continuous reception, I might need samples to trim only once right?

That's a good question! I'm inclined to agree with you and say yes, you might only need to trim sample once; but since I haven't this out myself, I'm not sure.
