What is the .xsd file in C:\Program Files\IVI\Data directory?

I just wanted to know what the IVIConfigurationStore.xsd file is in the C:\Program Files\IVI\Data.  I know the IVIconfiguration.xml file is the configuration of my NISE devices but I don't know what .xsd file is for.  Any idea?

It is an XML schema file for IVI configuration store. See www.ivifoundation.org for more info on IVI configuration store.

Edit to add:
iviconfigurationstore.xml does not contain any NISE information - it only contains information about IVI Switch devices that NISE uses. Just wanted to clarify.
