What is the correct way to set up simulated NI switches in NISE?

I have not been able to correctly set up simulated NI switches for use in NISE.  I haven't found any instructions or tutorials that explain this process.  So far everything I've tried has not succeded. I have ordered a PXI chassis and some switches and I want to start on the software using NISE but I need to set up the routes first..
