Joms,
Unfortunatly, these devices do NOT yet have simulation within MAX. For these devices the option available to you would be to create an IVI Logical Name and use that. The Downside is that once you have configured everything as an IVI device, you should continue to use it as an IVI device.
How to create IVI Devices for 2737.
- Open MAX
- Expand My System
- Expand IVI Drivers
- Click Driver Sessions
- Click Create New in toolbar on right
- Rename Driver Session to something useful (ex: "IVI2737DS")
- Click General Tab on bottom right
- Change Simulate With to Specific Driver
- Change Driver Setup to "topology:2737/2-Wire 4x64 Matrix"
- Click Software Tab on bottom right
- Change Software Module to niSwitch
- Click Save IVI Configuration
- Click Logical Names
- Click Create New in toolbar on right
- Rename Logical Name to something useful (ex: "IVI2737LN")
- Change Driver Session to name of the driver session you created (ex: "IVI2737DS")
- Click Save IVI Configuration
- Create a Switch Executive Virtual Device the Logical Name and create routes.
When you get your hardware, you can simply edit the Driver Session to include the device.
- Click your driver session
- Click General Tab on bottom right
- Change Simulate With to "Don't Simulate"
- Click Hardware tab on bottom right
- Click Add
- Give a valid name (ex: "Real2737")
- Click checkbox
- Change Resource Descriptor to the alias of the 2737 device you want to use.
- Add Description
- Click Save IVI Configuration
- Validate Virtual Device configuration in Switch Executive.
Hope this helps!
