Need source for Molex docking connector used on PXI-2530 Switch

I'm trying to build some hardware to interface to a PXI-2530 Multiplexer Switch card. According to the manual, it requires a Molex 52943-1760 docking connector to mate with it.

Any idea where I can buy some? I need at least 5. I'm having zero luck finding these so far.

Mike,

You can contact your local Avnet distributor (if you don't have one or aren't in contact with one, you can probably get help through avnet.com). They carry this part. The part that you are looking for is Molex 52755-1760. (NI's part number through Avnet for that part is 761776-01).

The number that you were looking for (52943-1760) is actually the connector on the module itself. I double checked our specification sheet (the one shipping with our latest softare version) and it appropriately shows the correct 52755 part. Do you know where you ran across the 52943 part? We would like to ensure that it gets corrected in our documentation.

Thanks,
Jason

Hi Jason,

Thank you very much for your reply. I'll give Avnet a try.

You're correct, the documentation for the 2530 switch says the mating connector is a 52755-1760, which is a right angle connector. I actually prefer a vertical (i.e. not right angle) connector for my application, and according to Molex's site, I believe that is the 52943-1760.

I'm hoping to make a small backplane that I can plug on to 5 of the 2530 switch modules to reduce the cabling to my DUT. That's why I prefer the vertical connector.

Thanks again for your help,

Mike Z

Update...

I went to Avnet.com and they have none of the 52755-1760 parts in stock, but I can buy 3000 of them if I place an order. Unfortunately, I only need 5.

They don't carry the 52943-1760 vertical mating connector at all.

So I'm back to nowhere.

I guess I'll have to use the TB-2630 terminal blocks and just live with a mass of ribbon cables.

Hello Mike,

Molex lists their distributors on their website under "Contact Us". You might be able to find one of them who has smaller quantities available.
