Hello, I have a Cdaq 9174 chassis with an NI 9239 module (analogue input at 50Khz/ch) with Signal Express.
And I wanted to know if we could acquire this four inputs synchronised with datas from CAN connection by using a NI USB 8473 ?
Many thanks.
Patrick.

hello patlegain,
Are you using aVI import in Signal Express in order to user the 8473?

Hello, no we don't use VI.
We are just starting with NI systems and we're just testing with Signal express different kind of acquisition to know the opportunities.
Does we need absolutely to use VIs to acquire datas from the 8473? Is it very difficult to do?
Many thanks!

For me you can't use the driver NI-CAN is not compatible with Signal Express. The Only way you could use it with SE, is to pass through LabVIEW VI.
You'll find in the below link the way to do it.

I advise you to stay in LabVIEW this kind of program. It's easier.
Best regards.

Thanks for your advise, I saw that a CAN module for compact rio already exist, the NI 9862. I saw that this solution is better with hardware sync.
Is this one is directly workable by signal express, or does we need VI anyway?

SignalExpress can only be use with those drivers:
NI-DAQmx /NI-SCOPE / NI-FGEN / NI-HSDIO / NI-HWS / NI-DMM / NI-DCPower / IVI Driver Toolset.
SE does not support the NI-XNET driver that the 9862 runs on so it is not compatible. And i'm not sure that you can run a VI that uses this drivers on SE.
Best regards.

OK. We've found a solution, we used the shared variables from LABVIEW to transmit to signal express.
Thanks!
