I tried to repair still the same problem, i also restored my computer to an earlier restore point, still the same problem...

I moved entire MAX directory to desktop, no result...

Now, not even Measurement & Automation Explorer doesn't work... same error, crashing at start

I unistalled and reinstalled the whole LabView software, cleaned the registers and no change. I get the same error. LabView 8.6 work fine instead. What can i do? I don't want to format my hard drive...

Unfortunately formating was ultimate solution. That did it. Only the OS partition was formatted and reinstalled.

Now it's fully working.

I think the problem was with a software which deactivated the administrator rights (as I saw the same problem with user rights in Vista OS) .

So , it's solved! (kind of...).

Dear John,

so do I.

I have the same problem in the Signal Express 3.0 (limited edition) under Windows XP SP2 for my DAQ 6008-USB. The software runs fine until this past Friday, when I introduced the license code. From this moment, the software crashed all the time and an informative message advice me the same than you (Signal Express detected a problem and it has to be closed).

I reinstalled the Signal Express twice, and after the second reinstallation (maybe license code was deleted this last time) Signal Express worked OK. In order to discard options, I reintroduced the license code, AND THE PROBLEM REAPPEARED!

I would like if in your case, you also introduced your license before your problems started.

Best regards,

Well, the problem appeared after the program worked fine for over 6 month with licence code installed. I installed another software wich altered some user files and limited acces to administrator only and that make my signal express to crash...

humm... Very interesting. Did you try to let the first program unaltered? In your case, the problem could come from some conflict between original software and the after-installed software.

In my case, the problem appeared inmediatelly after installing the license code. Yesterday I tried to contact with Sales person in charge of Barcelona area in order to find some solutions, but he is out of the office.

when I had a clear answer I will forward to you, may be it can be useful for you.

Many thanks for your quick answer John.

Best regards,
