intermittant signal recording

Hello, Im a new student user to Signal Express.  Im trying to record a test wave (Sinc function) to learn how to log data.  What Id like to do is setup a scrolling-style window that will continuously log voltage input data for about 60 seconds from an oscilloscope (Tektronix DPO3034).  Our group would be happier if we could watch the data as it happens so we can observe random spike events in this timespan. 

In my test signal it only records chunks of the sinc function however.  The bottom of the data view window shows the gaps. I attached screen shots, can you please tell me why its not recording continuous data and there are spaces in the data?

Hi Guyin, 

How are you sending the data from Step Setup to the Data View? Do you have some specific settings you are using or are you just dragging the Step into the Data View?

Have you tried exporting the data and creating a graph from that data? If so, do those graphs also look strange as well?
