Run LabVIEW option missing

Hello,

I would like to add a LABView VI to my signal express project.

Every piece of documentation I read says to simply click on the AddStep button and select Run LabVIEW VI.

However I do not seem to have this option available.

I am running Signal Express 2011 and I have  LabView Run Time 8.2.1, 8.5.1, 8.6.1, 2009 SP1, 2009 SP1 (64 bit), 2010 SP1, 2011 SP1 f2.

The help documentation says to use LabVIEW 8.2 or later (I have 2009) and that I cannot run VI's developed with teh 64 bit systems.

Any help would be appriciated.

Hi Tim,

Are you getting a particular error message?

What version of LabVIEW was the VI saved in? You can check by following this KB: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/0C72D335AA87DD6486256FC40069C17F

If the VI is compiled as a library then you can try to compile it as a source distributions: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/54F649E26B7EEA5F862576A3006B8C5B

I think your missing my point.

I am not getting an error at all.  The problem I am having is signal express does not even give me the option to select a VI under the add step menu.

Under my ADD Step menu I only have the following options

Acquire Signals

Generate SIgnals

Create Signals

Load/Save Signals

*Favorites

I am assuming there should be a Load VI or something in this nature.

HI Tim,

Are you using SignalExpress LE or an unlicensed  and unregistered version of SignalExpress? That functionality is not available in that case: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371268M-01/expresswb/license_restrictions/

You can check by using the NI License Manager that can be found in the start menu»National Instruments folder. This image shows a properly activated copy of SignalExpress Full. If this is not what you see, then that is part of the limitation of the Limited Edition.

Yes I have the limited edition but I thought we purchsed the full version back in 2011.  If I supplied the license (not online of course) would NI be able to determine what features the current license would enable me to use?

Tim,

We can certainly do that for you. Please head over to www.ni.com/support and give us a call.
