Novint Falcon Haptic

Hi all

Im a total novice trying to play with some programming.I have a old Novint Falcon haptic controller ( http://www.novint.com/index.php/novintfalcon ) that im trying to controle. First i tried using Labview 2013 trial version and followed this guide ( http://gomezdegabriel.com/wordpress/2014/02/creating-a-library-for-novints-falcon-haptic-programming... ) and I get the signal just fine.

But what i want to do is try to controle the device. First of all I would like to be able to record the data/the falcons movements and replay them, (making the falcon move)

Serching forums and watching tutorials I read that SignalExpress might be the thing I need.. But reading the SignalExpress guide I cant find any drivers for the 3party Novint Falcon hardware. So is it even possible to use SignalExpress for this device..

Cheers

Mads

Hi Mads.

I don't think that SignalExpress is the way to go in this case. However, what you can do, is to add a step that calls a LabVIEW VI. This VI then contains the code needed to control your robot.

Building Run LabVIEW VI Steps from Existing VIs

This also means that you need to do the LabVIEW programming anyway, so I would deffinetly recommand to just stick with LabVIEW. With the great tutortial you found in how to use LabVIEW to control it, I think you are actually pretty far in the progress.

All you might need is some getting started help with LabVIEW. I can recommand the following:

Here is something I found to control the Falcon.  I can get it to read movement but cannot control force.  Let me know if you ever get something working.
