NI USB 6216 differential recording setup in SignalExpress

Hi,

I'm new to NI USB 6216 DAQ.

I'm wondering how to record differentially with this DAQ via SignalExpress.

In previous DAQ I used (NI 6341), there's a + and a - channel for each input (e.g. ai 0+ and ai 0-).

But in NI USB 6216, it's only from ai 0 - ai 15, no + or - sign for each input.

It will be highly appreciated if someone can tell me how to record differentially between ai0 and ai8, for example.

Quite urgent (experiment ongonig)...

Many thanks in advance!!

Sincerely,

Hemmings

You seem to know that you need to wire to ai0 and ai8 so I don't understand your question. When configuring for differential, ai0=ai0+ and ai8=ai0-. Both devices use the same channels.

Yes, but how do I set it up in SignalExpress environment?

Under Acquire signal-Voltage:

I can only select AI0 or AI8, but no option as "AI0-AI8" differential recording.

Thanks for you help!!

You should be selecting the same exact way as with the 6341. Select differential and ai0. There is no need to select ai8. That is automatic.

Be sure your "Terminal Configuration" is set to Differential and not RSECapture.JPG
